Mooloolaba Airbnb

We completed a full electrical upgrade of a waterfront unit in Mooloolaba, transforming it into a high-quality Airbnb with new lighting, air conditioning, and switchboard infrastructure.

Mooloolaba

Duration

1 week

Budget

$20,000

The Challenge

The client needed a reliable electrician who could upgrade the old systems and coordinate with other trades during a fast-paced renovation. The brief required a high-end electrical finish to match the modern coastal aesthetic, with everything completed ahead of a strict Airbnb launch timeline.

Our Solution

Atlas Power Solutions installed three new Daikin Cora split systems, including a fresh upstairs installation with custom cable runs and a dedicated circuit. We removed outdated A/C units and replaced all related components with new drainage, pipework, and isolators. We also upgraded the main sub-board for improved safety and functionality, and installed multiple power points, sconce lighting, and decorative feature lights to create a warm and functional guest space.

The Results

The updated unit is now fully Airbnb-ready, offering reliable climate control, a modern electrical layout, and inviting lighting throughout. The upgraded switchboard provides a safer, more efficient backbone for the unit’s power needs, and the final finish exceeded the client’s expectations — blending style, performance, and future-ready infrastructure.

This feature light creates a striking design element in the stairwell, blending ambient function with artistic flair — a stylish electrical upgrade by our team.

A white split system air conditioning unit mounted high on a bedroom wall above a built-in wardrobe.

Energy-efficient split system A/C unit installed for all-season comfort — a neat finish to complement the Airbnb’s interior style.

A modern up-down wall sconce with warm lighting, mounted above a coastal-themed artwork in a hallway.

Soft ambient lighting installed above feature art adds warmth and style — one of many subtle touches in this coastal Airbnb transformation.

An old, yellowed sub-board with limited circuit protection, exposed toggles, and faded labels beneath a smoky plastic cover.

Here’s a look at the original sub-board setup before our upgrade. Outdated, overcrowded, and well past its prime — it was time for a safer, more modern solution.

A woven-style ceiling pendant casting beautiful radial light patterns across the ceiling and stairwell walls.

Sometimes lighting isn’t just functional — it’s art. We installed this feature pendant to completely transform the stairwell and it’s safe to say the shadows stole the show.
